The Irish Wood and Furniture Manufacturing network is newly established, under the auspices of the West Regional Skills Forum. The network is established to facilitate companies in the industry to thrive through collaboration and is driven forward by active participation of the industry stakeholders; designers, manufacturers and educational bodies, who will come together around the networks 4 pillars:

Establishing the future needs of the industry and ensuring its workforce is fit for purpose.
Helping firms navigate the commercial landscape, whatever their stage of development.
Design & Innovation
Helping Irish firms compete at the leading edge of international industry.
Helping firms leverage the latest developments in manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
Purpose of the network
- Industry peer to peer sharing and collaboration to increase expertise within furniture design and manufacturing field nationally.
- Raise profession awareness of career paths within furniture design and manufacturing field.
- Establish skills needs within the field – current talent capacity within the industry and identify any skills gaps.
- Increase industry linkage with Education and Training providers to meet the needs of industry.
