NCAD Youth Art Programme (YAP)
NCAD Youth Art Programme (YAP) - Entrepreneurship Summer Camps for second level students.
July /August 2018
As part of the Youth Art Programme Summer Camp in the National College of Art & Design, the Schools of Design and Education, in collaboration with the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun, are running four, week-long, Enterprise Workshops for second level students with an interest in innovation and entrepreneurship this July and August. Based on the success of two pilot summer camps that ran in 2017, the Higher Education Authority (HEA) has awarded NCAD full funding to expand the programme to four summer camps in 2018.
The week-long courses in Green Enterprise and Creative Enterprise (delivered in the Rediscovery Centre and NCAD respectively) focus on developing skills in entrepreneurship, design thinking, innovation, product development, service design, sustainable design and presentation to enable capacity building for economic growth. The workshops demonstrate practical skills associated with commercial feasibility and participants develop business models to produce innovative products and services to meet the challenges of the modern world. At the conclusion of these intensive workshops, participants present their business models to a panel of industry experts and business consultants in a Dragons Den style scenario.
