Collaboration of Industry & Education gives Employability opportunity
This event organised in collaboration with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), TU Dublin Tallaght and the Dublin Regional Skills Forum provided an opportunity in which employers and future employees were able to speak and network ahead of many of the student’s final year of third level education.
Students were joined by business leaders from across both the global and Irish business spectrum including representatives from; BDO, AIB, Cooney Carey, Marsh Capital Solutions, DKC Accountants, Dalata Hotel Group, Cronin & Co and Smith & Williamson. The representatives from the various business’s rotated around the student groups giving them a brief update on what they are looking for when recruiting, giving insight into the skills they expect to be evidenced and taking informal questions from those present.
Speaking on the event Michelle O’Reilly, Business Development Manager at ACCA Ireland said, “ACCA are delighted to work with TU Dublin Tallaght, the Dublin Regional Skills Forum and our employer partners in the region on the employability event held in November.
The opportunity to have the students from TU Dublin Tallaght meet with a number of different kind of employers to learn more about the variety of roles that a modern accountant can pursue and the skills required is invaluable and we hope that everyone involved took something away from it. The event is also a great way to showcase the kind of support students can expect and the network they will be exposed to should they choose to join ACCA upon entering the professional world.”
