Welcome to the Mid-West Regional Skills Homepage

COVID-19 Update

The Regional Skills Fora are  mindful of the escalating risk and potential impact of COVID-19 on our colleagues and clients. Of paramount importance to us is protecting and safeguarding the health and well-being of everyone we engage with. Regional Skills Managers will continue to provide advice and support for clients throughout this period. Our phone lines remain open and we are available by phone or email as before. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you on any future changes should they arise. We will be publishing updates and practical advice for businesses dealing with this crisis on our Website. Please keep an eye on our website and Twitter for further updates.

We are committed to supporting you during these challenging times, and should you need our help or have any questions please contact your local Regional Manager who will be happy to signpost you to relevant supports.

The Future of Work Requires a Public -Private Partnership.

The underlying strength of the Mid West Region is built upon a spirit of partnership and collaboration which is reflected in the work of the Regional Skills Forum. The forum is comprised of education and training providers working together with industry and enterprise to identify and address current and future skills needs.

According to a Labour market report by Accenture '65% of today's primary school children may be working in jobs not yet created'. If we are to succeed in matching talent with the skills required then our challenge is to understand the specific needs of industry today and into the future. To do this collaborative partnerships between industry and education providers are both necessary and essential in terms of course design and delivery. The Mid-West Regional Skills Fora on behalf of Government are the primary organisation responsible to both establish and strengthen these relationships.
