Women in Coding Graduation Ceremony held in DELL Limerick
16 November 2022
The first graduates from the Women in Coding initiative received their certificates at a recent graduation ceremony held in DELL, Limerick.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Mid-West Regional Skills Forum and Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board in collaboration with the Code Institute and the Limerick for IT network, saw 20 women who were out of the workforce undertake a diploma in Software Development which included a three-month work placement with a tech company in the Mid-West region.
Many of these women are now working for these tech companies, while others have continued their upskilling journey.
The aim of the course is to improve gender diversity within the tech industry which has struggled to hire and retain women.
The second iteration of the course is now underway. For further information please contact the Mid-West Regional Skills Manager Joe Leddin at joeledding@regionalskills.ie
