Transitioning to a Green Economy requires a workforce with the right skills and capabilities to undertake new job tasks. The importance of sustainable development and the accelerated shift to low carbon economy will impact across all industry sectors and occupations.
According to the Governments Climate Action Plan 2019 ‘the window of opportunity to act is fast closing, but Ireland is way off course’.
The objective of DigiEco is to instill cultural and behavioural change within organisations. Developing the digital capacity of employees will help implement new work processes that contribute towards greener and cleaner working environments.
On completion they will have the necessary digital skills and knowledge to undertake a Green audit, implement appropriate changes to work practices and review progress.
In addition learners will be informed of further opportunities available to help them implement best practice behavioural change in specific areas such as renewable energy and the circular economy. This training is 100% funded by Government under the National Training Fund.
