As part of the first phase of this consultation, views or submissions are now being sought from all interested parties, including the road haulage sector and other industry stakeholders involved in the wider logistics and supply chain, as well as from academia, further education, and the general public.
The first consultation document is now available here. This document includes a piece on skills and the labour market.
The Department would very much welcome your views on the measures that are needed to deliver on these objectives, in particular decarbonising the haulage sector, which as you of course know represents a significant challenge.
Your response and any queries in relation to the consultation process can be emailed to to: haulagestrategy@transport.gov.ie. You can also send your response by post to: Road Transport Freight Policy Division, Department of Transport, Leeson Lane, Dublin, D02 TR60.
The deadline for submissions as part of this consultation process is close of business on Friday, 2nd July 2021.
