UCD College of Business’ Centre
15 February 2021 Do you want a top-class business education from Ireland’s leading Business School?
UCD College of Business offers 3 part-time programmes
- Diploma in Business Studies
- Bachelor of Business Studies
- Masters in Management.
- All three of our programmes have face-to-face teaching, but they are concentrated in Block-Release Weekends – four per trimester for our Masters Programme, and three per trimester for the Diploma and Bachelor Degree Programmes.
Diploma in Business Studies
Our Diploma in Business Studies is designed for mature students (at least 23 years of age on the 1st January of the proposed year of entry) who wish to return to education to gain a third level degree.
A flexible admissions policy is in place, with two routes of entry; one based on mature years, life experience and academic aptitude and the second based upon matriculation (i.e. Leaving Certificate). The former route of entry tends to be the most common one with the average age of students in the region of 32 years. So if you are 23 or over on New Year’s Day 2021 and want to return to education and gain a degree, this may be for you!

Bachelor of Business Studies
If you already hold a Diploma in Business (Level 7 Qualification or an equivalent business qualification), with a grade of merit or above, or a HETAC ordinary degree or a national/higher certificate (level 6 qualification) you may qualify to apply for our Bachelor of Business Studies.
The majority of our students join the Diploma in Business Studies programme, and enter the Bachelor Degree phase after two years.

Master of Science (MSc) in Management
The MSc in Management offers you the chance to obtain a solid foundation in management education without putting your career on hold. It is primarily aimed at current professionals of a non-business academic background with a keen interest in the business world and looking to build upon their prior qualifications with a business/management specialisation.
In order to be eligible, you need to have a minimum second-class honours degree in a non-business discipline (Nursing, Medicine, Architecture, Arts etc.). In very exceptional circumstances, applications may be accepted from non-degree holders with significant management work experience. An interview may also form part of the assessment process.
