Established
1845 as University College Galway, one of the “Queen’s Colleges”. Rebranded to National University of Ireland Galway in 1997.

Locations
The main NUI Galway campus sits on a 260 acre riverside campus in Galway’s city centre. The University has a number of outreach locations including Carraroe and Gweedore where a number of programmes are offered through the medium of Irish. A number of part-time programmes are also offered in outreach locations through the western region in conjunction with partnership groups.

Graduate recruitment The Graduate Destinations survey for 2015 indicates a strong position for graduate employment. 96% of students were either in employment, further study, unpaid internships or on a year out, the year following their graduation.
Lifelong learning: Part Time/Distance/Online
The Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development (CALPD) offers an extensive range of professional, part-time and evening courses.
